A guide to the perfect Sunday

A GUIDE TO THE PERFECT SUNDAY

MY SUNDAY CHRONICLE

Sundays are my favourite day of the week – except for the Sunday scaries – but besides that, it’s pretty wonderful. Here’s my Sunday chronicle…

  • Morning Exercise

Unlike most days, I actually like to start my Sundays bright and early. I spend most of my days on a plane or sitting for work, so my Sundays absolutely need to fit in workouts. In New York, you’ll find me at Soulcycle, and in Montreal? Spinco, hello! 👋

  • Spirituality Time

I take some time to go to church, watch religious lessons online, pray or reflect heavily on Sundays. It’s such a beautiful time where I can step away, reflect on life, my journey, where I am and what I need to change. I also combine this with goal setting, and diary entries where I can in many ways meditate and relax.

  • Cafe or Brunch

New York is huge on brunch, and I’m all for it, haha! 😂 In Montreal, I love going to Arthurs Nosh Bar with my sister or friends, while in New York, I’ll usually go to Soho and relax by Aime Leon Dion. Their coffee is legitimately amazing, and working out of the cafe is easy and soothing.

  • Go to a Museum or Greenhouse

When I was living in Glasgow, I spent many days at their botanical garden and greenhouse. It was a peaceful place where I could read a book, walk around and catch up with friends. New York doesn’t have the best real estate for nature - as we all know, but I try to find parks or museums to make up for it during the day. When in a new city, I’ll try to find greener spaces. For instance, in Dallas, I’ll stay at the Crescent Court Hotel to enjoy the botanical feel of its architecture - especially in the back.

  • City Meetups

I love going to meetups where I can discuss my favourite interests. From Venture Capital meetups in New York to Women in Business brunches, I can’t help but feel incredibly lucky to be in a city where I get to meet new people with different points of view. For instance, I had the chance to attend the Aspire to Her launch, and it was fantastic! Checking out Meetup.com or Facebook groups in your city on topics you enjoy, is a good place to start. However, if you can’t find a meetup or conference, you can always build one yourself, and market it out. Start an email campaign, a Facebook page or group, recruit friends and create a small get-together. You’ll be surprised at how networks grow themselves.
