Quick Stop: What To Do In London When You Only Have 2 Days
What I Did On a Quick Stop to London
Many of you may remember my times studying abroad in beautiful, Scotland. What you may not know is I'm quite familiar with London, England. During my time in Scotland, I spent my time traveling to London interviewing with creative agencies, visiting friends and going to cafes my student budget couldn't afford. Now, as a young professional, I left for one of my favourite cities in the world to check off a few things off the bucket list I thought I'd missed.
Here is what I got up to...
A few years ago, all I wanted to do was move to London. See the world, get a fresh perspective and move far away from all I had ever known. It didn't happen like I wanted to. Instead, the world rearranged itself to bless me with much better. A life of much work and travel, a steady home life and infinite excitement.
"You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
1. Shopping on Regent Street
I spent a great deal of my time saving up as a student and London was one of those playgrounds I couldn't truly play in. I knew one day would come when all the saving and investment in the "future" would make waiting worth it. I enjoyed going to Oxford Circus and Regent Street where I walked and walked strutting my Saint-Laurent sunnies and affordable haute-couture inspired dress knowing if I wanted to, I could get myself a little treat. You may find it shocking I didn't actually buy anything but my dress...standardization of markets, haha. Everything in NYC, Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco and Vancouver was in London! At least I was able to enjoy the humour in window shopping.
2. Visiting Harrods
Okay, so it was more like "I need to charge my phone so let's go to the technology floor and find an outlet" sort of moment...but I really do love Harrods. Weirdest thing about me is that I actually hate shoe shopping.
"Weirdest thing is…I actually hate shoe shopping."
Yes, I just made that remark into a headline because you're probably hating me right now. Before you switch tabs on me, hear me out. I had a spectacular time at Harrods and saw the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder makeup collection. If you know me at all, you'll realize I LOVE VICTORIA BECKHAM and yes, I bought the Saphir Orange palette!
Also, a big thanks to Estee Lauder for the lovely Victoria Beckham London Look makeover!
3. Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea at Richeux was one of my favourite ways to spend my Saturday in London. Tea for one and calling my sister while she was in Canada made for a wonderful time. Ah, it was lovely!
I had the Chinese Rose Pouchong tea and let me tell you, it was fantastic!
